ENTRY FORMS

HORSE PROGRAM

ENTRY TICKETS TO BE PURCHASED ON THE DAY FROM THE RING OFFICE.

Gresford Show offers a diverse range of show classes including our local rider, breed and led classes, as well as Off the Track Thoroughbreds and Australian Stock Horses.

All local competitors have the opportunity to be awarded the James Hall Supreme Local Rider (under 17 years) perpetual trophy which is based on the highest point score over two days of competition. The successful rider will also be awarded $100 prize money and a broad sash during the Grand Parade on the Saturday. 

Competitors also have the opportunity to be awarded the David Cain Memorial which offers $150 in prize money and broad sash. The successful candidate will have accumulated the highest point score from placings over both days of the show.

 

Any competitors wishing to be considered for the David Cain Memorial will need to nominate their horse at the ring office by midday on the Friday of the show. ​

CAMPDRAFT

Gresford Show boasts strong competition over our two day show. In 2024, our campdraft will offer the following classes; 

~ Junior Draft

~ Juvenile Draft

~  Maiden Draft 

~  Novice Draft

~  Open Draft

Due to the availability of cattle a decision has been made to run the Novice and Maiden in conjunction. Competitors who elect to run in the combined class will have their scores applied to both the Maiden and Novice.

On Friday the Junior and Juvenile draft brings together some of the most talented riders from across the district. The Juvenile draft is proudly sponsored by Chris Dooley and Family and that Paterson River Pony Club with the winner being presented with a shield.

The finalists in our Friday OPEN Draft will ride off in the camp draft final held on Saturday.

The draw will be available by 7pm Wednesday 6 March 2024. Competitors should refer to the conditions of entry on CAMPDRAFT CENTRAL, and communication on email for updates on the status of their entry.

STUD & COMMERICAL CATTLE

Our cattle program offers classes for both stud and commercial cattle.

 

If you have a prized bull, heifer, cow or steer, then come and join us at Gresford Show. 

On Friday we will be hosting our Junior Cattle Judging which is an opportunity for primary school, high school and senior school competitors.

Our Saturday our classes will include both stud and commercial cattle. 

Prize money of $150 will be provided to the Supreme Commercial Exhibit which has been proudly donated by Kirala Angus Stud. A trophy sponsored by Richardson Pastoral Co, will also be presented. 

The overall Grand Champion Beef breed exhibit will receive prize money of $150 which has been kindly donated by Kirala Angus Stud and a ribbon and trophy donated by A Kelehear.  

Thank you to Bowe and Lindbury, Barabara Stevenson, and Joliffe Building Services for their continual sponsorship of this event. 

 

POST SPLITTING

Who doesn't love the smell of freshly cut timber !

 

Come and feel the adrenaline of the post split competition, followed by our feature chainsaw events which will be displayed in the main ring following the grand parade on Saturday 9 March 2024.

PAVILLION

Our Pavilion offers a wide range of exhibits for participants and spectators across the Gresford community. 

Come and see the some of the best farm produce, home style cooking, and flower arrangements that the district has to offer. 

Our pavilion will return in 2024, and include an exciting array display of;

* Farm Produce

* Vegetables and Fruit 

* Jams, Jellies, and Pickles 

* Cooking

* Cut flowers, pot plants, flower arrangements and fancy work

* Art, Craft, Photography, Children's Work

POULTRY

Our Poultry program offers a wide range of exhibits. 

We will have a display of full program including Australian Game, Soft Feathered Standard, Hard Feather Bantum, and Soft Feather Bantum. 

CAVVY & RABBITS

Our adorable display of rabbits and cavvy's will be on display in our pavilion.

PET PARADE

Our Pet Parade is a great way for your kids to have some fun, while showing off their loved family pet. 

We will be running classes for; 

~ Best Costume

~ Too cute for words

~ The longest tail

~ The softest pet

~ Most unique pet

~ Best trick

~ Best behaved

All competitors must be at the showground at 10am Saturday 11th March 2023.
